The first drawing in a new illustration series "Dogs with Hats" - here: "Pug with bowler."
I kept the drawing in a mix of realism and illustrative style, inclined towards illustrative.
What I mean is, that there are things in the illustrative method, you can not use for realism, for example: contour-lines and symbolic texture.
It has been fun and a bit difficult to stay away from the highly detailed realism, I usually draw in with pencil.
Love all this new work you are doing, it is nice to try different styles and experiment...love the idea of dogs with hats and look forward to seeing more.
