Oryx / Gemsbok finished

Så er mit maleri nr. 2 i serien Perfect Stripes færdigt. Den smukke Oryx/Gemsbok. Baggrunden er malet i ekspressive farver, men syner alligevel af himmel og jord.

Jeg havde stor fornøjelse (og erfaring fra zebra maleriet) i at male denne.

Billedet er 70 x 90 cm. Det første maleri i serien er Zebra (herunder).

Now my 2. painting in the serie Perfect Stripes are finished. The beautiful Oryx/Gemsbok. The background are painted in expressive colors, but still it shows sky and ground.

I had great pleasure (and experience from the zebra painting) in painting this.

The painting is 70 x 90 cm. The first painting in the serie is Zebra (below).

Oryx'en får de sidste detaljer, så han er snart klar til salg 😉 Jeg er rykket indenfor, udestuen er for kold nu, men heldigvis kan mit tegnebord tippes, og jeg kan sidde ned og male.

Dancing dogs

Airdale terrier wip

It's Drawing Thursday (tegnetorsdag) and here is my progress on the airdale terrier. My artfriend and I talk a lot so progress is a bit slow, but that is fine 😉

Lapwing - wip

Due to my recent new workflow calendar (the post about it), I alternate between painting, drawing and uploading for shops.

Today I worked a little bit on my watercolor lapwing. I was careful drawing the bird in pencil - freehand from photo on my tablet.
The bird has some really beautiful colors of green, blue, red and violet. Here I started initial layers.

I changed my workflow

At the moment I am working on several projects. I divide my calendar in drawing- and painting days + uploading to my onlineshops.
It is a new way to work for me, as I am used to work on only one project of either drawing or painting untill that artwork is finished. (The online work, I am used to fit in.)

I have been convinced that I could only concentrate on one artwork untill finished before doing something else. But actually, using the simple tool of a calendar, help me change that idea. When having the overview in the calendar, I just shift pen with brush on the days I have noted and visa versa. To stay in some kind of flow, I prefer to paint for 2 days in a row and then draw for 2 days.

The good thing is that I don't get disturbed with the urge to work on something else in the current process - I know I will get to another process in 1-2 day. And concentrating is no problem ... and as the working time of projects differ, it feels like I finish stuff more often.

It really fits my personality, I wonder why I could not see it before 😏

Oryx - perfect stripes wip

Not that much of a wip as I am several hours into this painting. It is the beautiful oryx (gemsbok) I have chosen for this second painting in the serie Perfect stripes.

The background are painted quite rough to give the impression of sky and land, no details.

And now working on the oryx, I can add more details, I guess especially the horns will be a challenge in details ;)
