Front page Starving Artist site

It is always an honour to be mentioned on the frontpage of Mike Sibley's Starving Artist site,
and here are the screendump where Mike mentions my achievement with "Mille - poodle". Thanks, Mike.

Irish wolfhound

I am now nearly finished with the old door.

I have really enjoyed drawing the textures of stone and wood.

.... I still wait for a title to pop up in my head.

irish wolfhounds

The dogs are now emerging in front of the stones. Before I start drawing them I still have the door in right side.

Irish wolfhounds

Here is a view of more of my drawing. I am soon finished with the stonewall, next will be an old door placed to the right.

You can perhaps see I have started a little test of the ground-texture; gravel....
And you can see my outlines of the dogs.... very hairy breed!

I have been voted into a 12.th place in Guest Gallery International Artshow of Realism.
Votes are placed by the public. There was many entries, so this position makes me very proud.
My entry was "Mille - poodle"

... and more stones

I am still working on the wall with the smaller stones. I still have some work to do here. You can see my initial lay-out for one of dogs too. This is gonna be with irish wolfhounds..
You can read about my intentions with this image here.

By the way - very unusual for me - I do not have a title yet. Most often I have the title before I start drawing, but once in a while not so. I hope that one will pop-up while I am drawing.

More stones

I have started the smaller stones of the wall. (I do not know the english word for this kind of wall).

Stonewall 2

I was not quite satisfied with my first stone rendering.

Here I have lifted graphite to get a bit less texture, but still showing rough stone.

My second blog - pin-ups

Perhaps you didn't know that I also have a pin-up blog. It has been very quiet there, but I have recently drawn a lot more for my pin-up blog.

I draw whimsical pin-ups in an on-line drawing-program. You can see more on the blog. Even whimsical, pin-ups are proberly not for the narrow-minded.

Stonewall

I have started in upper left corner and worked my way down drawing an old stone-wall.
There are some distortion from the digital-shot.

Sketches for new series

I have begun what I intend to be the first drawing in a new series in graphite.

Dogs - or to be more excact - purebreed dogs, placed in an inviroment that relate to the specific breed.

I work for the first time on a paper called Mellotex bright white. It is a paper that Mike Sibley recommends for graphite. I am very curious how this paper is to draw on. My first impression is: smooth - very smooth. If not recommended I am sure, I would never have tried out this paper.

I have made some small initial texture examples to get a feeling of the paper. So far it seems fine. These are just small sketches though.
