Papillon

I have started a new portrait of a papillon. It is in colored pencils and size A4.

Great dogs - amazing artists

I did mention back in 2009, that I was invited and selected ("Black cocker spaniel") for the "Great dogs - amazing artists" book, but I don't think I ever told where to buy it. Here's a link if you are interested.

2.nd place

My painting "He's my Favorite" took 2.nd place from the public votes at Fineart Americas contest "Magical Horse". View
The votes are cast by members of FAA, and the honour is the prize. I am happy the viewers liked my painting, and I liked many of the competitors entries.

Dalmatian - finished

Here is the finished portrait of the dalmatian, Sigurd.

Now I just have to get it mounted and delivered ;)

Reactions

I just found out that blogger offers a small Reactions poll under each thread.

As blog-owner you can customize the replies viewers can choose.

I've set mine as: I love it - I like it - Not my favorite.

I don't know if people will be aware of it, but it is a quick way to send a reply, isn't it ;)

More computerdrawings

I relax very much doing these whimsical computerdrawings. There are more in my picasa-webalbum.

Dalmatian - wip

another update on the dalmatian dog. This time with a lot of white fur!

Dalmatian - wip

More progress on Sigurd, the dalmatian.

I have been correcting the highlight on his left eye (our view), as I suspect it was not just the sun reflecting in his eye on the reference photo.

Dalmatian - wip

An update on the dalmatian - Sigurd.

Started painting in those beautiful spots :)

"Flying mouse?" - playful kitten

I let you have a small view of this earlier, but now it is finished.

The model is one of the kittens we had - now an adult cat.

I don't remember what she reached for initially, but I put in the mouse-toy and with the title, made up a little story.

Dry pastels and pastelpencils on velourpaper

Dalmatian - wip

From the human point of view the eyes are the most important facial feature in a portrait, so I've now started drawing them + the surrounding area

Dalmatian - wip

As I wrote here, I held an on-line portrait-competition for my danish readers.

My daughter pulled the winning number - it was a lovely dalmatian, Sigurd.

I have now started drawing. I outlined the dog by tracing, and now the fun part have started!

I think, I have started with the most important feature dog-wise, don't you think ;)

This will be in graphite, size A5.
