Meet 4 Misses

Meet 4 Misses: Here's my new Misses: Miss Rose. She is in good company with Miss Violet, Miss Lollipop and Miss Flora.
These females are a bit out of the ordinary with bold colors and really large hairstyles. The 3 of the Misses are going on exhibition now (Miss Lollipop found a new home at last exhibition ). The paintings are 60x60 cm, acrylic and for sale  Lenes website

Miss Rose - wip

Jeg er igang med en ny Misses, dette er Miss Rose. Jeg arbejder på at få hende færdig til en udstilling, så jeg igen har 3 Misses at vise frem sammen
I am working on a new Misses, this is Miss Rose. I want to have the painting finished for an exhibition, so that I once again have 3 Misses to show together

Portrait in watercolors - finished

Here is my finished watercolor portrait.

Painted on A3, 300 gsm Canson Montval watercolorpaper.
The portrait is build up from a shadowlayer and then several valuelayers. all thin and transparant. I am happy with the finished portrait.

Portrait in watercolors - wip

I am following a "portraits in watercolor" course, and it's working fine.

My portrait will probably end up more realistic than the teachers, without too much significant extra "topping". I have enough to do painting the portrait itself :) With more experience I will try out the added spice of drawing back into a portrait with personal lines and pattern.

Miss Lollipop

Miss Lollipop is now finished - the 3. in the Misses serie. I enjoy the very free process of drawing and then painting these girlies.
The serie shows original, whimsical ladies, in bold colors and with fab hairstyles. With their intentionally distorted apperance, they have charm, I think.
I start with sketches from imagination, and enlarge these onto the canvas. These are 60x60 cm. Painted in acrylic.
More to come, but I have to leave them for a while as other paintings are in line.
Here the first 3 together: Miss Flora, Miss Violet and Miss Lollipop

Miss Lollipop - wip

Brushes playing again. A new female in my "Misses" serie, Miss Lollipop is coming to life. I was a bit uncertain about the colorscheme, but my daughter went by my workplace, and said she adore the colors ☺️ I'll keep them.

Miss Flora - renewed

Miss Flora is a painting from 2017. I liked a lot about this female painting, but I was not quite satisfied.

Sometimes it can be difficult to pinpoint what you dislike in a painting - especially in your own work, as it is closer to your heart. But it is better to stand back, and really try to analyze what bothers you, than showcase an artwork you are not happy with.

Now 2 years after, where Miss Flora has resided among other paintings in my studio, I have renewed the painting. I liked her face, hair and sensual clothing. So it had to be the background. Then I had to figure out what to do with that.

I decided for a much more dark colorscheme, with more complimentary colors. And a pattern at the bottom.

In my goal of painting a serie of exciting personalities, a bit out of the ordinary and with extreme hairstyles, I am now happy with this first lady. Miss Flora.

I still need a name for the serie, but painting more of these women, I think it will appear.
