Two of a Kind

My latest cp-drawing "Two of a Kind" - jaguars. It is 19x29 cm on mountboard. This took me 20 + hours to complete, especially the black panther includes multiple layers of color.

To show some steps of the process

I have drawn a composition made from 2 different photos from a Zoo. I draw the composition via a grid for accurracy. The whiskers are impressed.

The eyes are very important, so I paint those first. Want to achieve the glow of cats eyes, and the strong look of these particular jaguars.
Later in the process, I change the black panthers eye - so far it is true to the reference, but I like it to be more open.

I start the fur. I've made some color-tests in advance. I use strokes in fur-direction.

Building up fur...

The spotted fur is build up. It takes less layers than the black cat. It is important to make the spots look like fur, by either overlapping the lighter fur or let the lighter fur overlap the black spot.
(I am sorry about the hype, cannot seem to control it in blogspot !?!)

Greek Dogs - sponsored gifts

I am glad that my sponsor prints for Greek Dogs has brought in 510 Danish kroner. Together with other art sponsored the money will go to help the dogs in need.

Juried into Art Horse Magazine Show

WOW - I am so proud to tell you that my "Oldenburger Horse" drawing has been juried into the Art Horse Magazine show. It will appear on their online show + bee published in the Show book.

Shire and Appletrees in Bloom

With this colored pencil drawing I wanted a mood of sunshine, calmness and harmony. The large Shire-horse is walking slowly and relaxed in the high grass under the blooming appletrees.

Black&White - Siberian Husky

My latest drawing/painting is of a beautiful Siberian Husky. I call it "Black&White".
I used watersoluble cp's, cp's and a little ink and acrylic for this.

I have tried ws cp's earlier with no luck, but not giving up on them, I decided to try again. And I found this time they worked fine ;)

Greek Dogs

Just as last year I was contacted by the "Greek Dog"-association, asking if I would sponsor their work of rescuing dogs from Greece.
Last year I made a Christmas-card especially for them, this year I sponsor with prints for auction.
I am looking forward to see which prints they choose and hope they will bring in money for the good work.

The Ball-game is Over

my latest colorpencil drawing "The Ball-game is Over". The 4 english bulldog pups having a great time playing is now soooo tired. I've posted a couple of pics to show the progress of this drawing... "Sun Colors" - Male Lion

I took the ref-photo for this painting at a zoo. The male lion had gorgeous yellow and orangebrown colors and I thought he looked so relaxed and peaceful. I made this in pastels. The original is 20 x 20 cm on Ingres paper

Grey Wolf - final update
