The golden retrievers I have met have always been gentle, friendly dogs. I found this referencephoto on PaintMyPhoto by LJ. the dog looking so beautiful, and my own referencephotos wasn't suitable for a close-up portrait drawing.

I did manage to get quite a step forward this last "session". You can see I have a variaty of pastelpencil brands I use, Fabercastell, Carbotello, Cretacolor. I also have some Derwent pastelpencils. Just above the drawing itself, you can just see my color-tests - a general paper to guide me, but the pencils have to be tested again if one uses a paper that differs much in hue.
I think this will be finished over this week, even things always takes longer than expected, and "other stuff" easy gets in the way between me and the drawingtable!!
My doggyshop: 3 little pups: 3 little pups I took the reference-photos for this drawing on a "Most beautiful dog of the year" show some years ago. Obviously the english bulldog pups was very very tired, and I just had to draw them This cute mug, is one of this months sales. http://society6.com/doggyshop
I have started my first black labrador retriever drawing with pastels. I use pastelpencils and hard pastels. Support is Clairfontaine Pastelmat. I took my reference picture at a dog-show a couple of years ago.
Maybe you already read my goals for 2015 here, but beside writing down things like this, I also like the idea of having word(s) to inspire and define the coming year.
The process of finding the word(s) can be done in many ways, there is a whole blog-culture about the item. Last year I found them by picking those that attracted me on a blog-page. This year I just kind of let them come to me. They sound much more challenging for me this time! The 3 words that kept sticking are:
Brave - Original - Inventive
This is words I would not put on myself instantly, but then a new year should be a progress shouldn't it ?
The idea of the project is to keep these words "in front of you" each day and let them inspire the day and the things you do....
